• All information reported to the hotline, including the identity of the caller, is kept strictly confidential. Callers do not even need to supply their names
• To deter hoax calls, the Crime Busters Hotline uses Telkom’s Sharecall service, meaning there is a nominal call charge. While hoax callers aren’t prepared to pay for their silly calls, genuine callers are assured of quicker response times
• The more information a caller has about a suspected crime, the better, so keep your eyes and ears open
